Consumer health data policy
Effective date:
This policy covers health information you send us through chinahealth.info. It applies to everyone, and it is written to meet Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada and Connecticut.
What counts as health information here
Anything that says or suggests your health, a condition, a treatment you want, or a test result. A message such as "I am looking for a liver transplant in China" is health information. So is a saved list of cancer hospitals.
What we receive
Only what you choose to send: your email address, your message, a saved list you ask us to email you, and anything optional you add, such as a phone number or a name.
Our servers also see your country and language from your request so we can reply in the right language. We do not keep your IP address; our rate limiter stores only a daily scrambled version that cannot be reversed.
The Check my case tool and the Quote check tool run in your browser. What you upload or type there is not sent to us unless you choose to send a message.
Why we use it
Only to reply to you, or to send the list you asked for. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or training models, and we do not combine it with other data about you.
Consent
We collect health information only after you tick the consent box on the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@chinahealth.info. After that we stop using your information and delete it, except where the law requires us to keep it.
Who processes it
Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery) and Upstash (anonymous counters that never hold message content). They process data for us under their data processing terms and may not use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell health information. We do not share it with hospitals, agencies, insurers or advertisers. If you ask us to put you in touch with anyone, we will ask for your separate permission first.
We would disclose information only if the law requires it, and we would tell you unless the law forbids it.
No advertising tracking
chinahealth.info loads no advertising pixels or third-party trackers. Our analytics are first-party, use no cookies, and record page views and button clicks without any health details.
How long we keep it
Messages and saved-list emails are kept for 12 months after your last message, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see the health information we hold about you, to get a list of the processors who received it, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email privacy@chinahealth.info from the address you used. We answer within 45 days. If we decline, we will say why, and you can appeal by replying to that email; we answer appeals within 45 days.
Residents of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut, the EU and the UK have these rights by law. We give them to everyone.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS and TLS email). Access is limited to the person who answers messages.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for any change in how we use health information, ask for your consent again.
